5: PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

We will do our best to accommodate all requests, but we do have space and time limitations. We cannot guarantee that your work will be exhibited. An ArtCar, artwork, performance or activity may be banned and the people involved removed if for any reason the ArtCar Fest organizers decide that it poses a risk to persons or property, or is otherwise inappropriate. Several of our venues include children in their audience so please be considerate and be prepared to tailor your presentation for an all-ages event.

6: ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

The ArtCar Fest is a festival for and about ArtCars. ArtCars are licensed, registered and insured vehicles that the artist has permanently altered in an artistic fashion. These are NOT parade floats - the unique aspect of our medium is that we bring art into the world every day as we drive our vehicles to work, to the store, and on the highways. Part of the mission of this event is to present a coherent vision of ArtCars to the world.

Site-specific and/or temporary art installations are cool but they are not ArtCars. Vehicles with temporary structures attached to them are not ArtCars. ArtBikes are great, and we encourage you to bring them to the show as a spectator, but they are not the focus of the event.

As in previous years, we try to maintain an inclusive policy for our event. We do have space, time and financial restraints, however, so we do maintain the right to refuse or remove non-decorated, dangerous or otherwise inappropriate vehicles or other property from our venues.

If you have artwork or a vehicle that you think would enhance our event, but it does not fit the above parameters, please feel free to send us a letter and reference material. We are always willing to discuss ways of improving our event, but this is not a typical art exhibition. It's the ArtCar Fest, and its focus is ArtCars.

I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organizers of ArtCar Fest and their sponsors and partners including, but not limited to, the the How Berkeley Can You Be? festival, Amoeba Records, Epic Arts, and their respective agents, servants and employees from any damages, claims, demands, or suits by any and all persons, sponsors, firms or corporations arising out of any acts or omissions by the people involved with this event. I also agree to obey all traffic laws while participating in the ArtCar Fest. I attest here that my vehicle is insured and meets all vehicle code requirements.
